Report from Garston Cenotaph

Members of Freemasons Lodges in Garston attended the Cenotaph in Garston on Remembrance Sunday 8th November.
Wreaths were laid on behalf of the Province of West Lancashire Mark Master Masons, the Garston Group of Craft lodges and the Lodge of Harmony.
The Wreaths were laid by V W Bro Eric Hughes (Mark Lodges), W Bro Howard Griffiths (Chairman Garston Group of Lodges) and W Bro John Raby (Lodge of Harmony Craft). The Orator was V W Bro Barry Elman (Garston Mark).
Freemasons were joined by local people for the ceremony at 11 am. Each year the numbers attending at 11 am is growing.

Mark Masons have had permission to wear Regalia in public when attending the Remembrance events for a number of years. This year the Craft Freemasons have also been given permission by the Provincial Grand Master of West Lancashire. This of course means collars and only in West Lancashire (at this stage).
In addition to the Craft and Mark Degree representatives was Ex Comp Sam Robinson a Garston Freemason and recently appointed an Assistant to the Provincial Grand Principles
A Sunday lunch was arranged in Garston Masonic Hall, which was organised by W Bro Derek Horrocks. Entertainment was provided by Sara Lowe who kindly donated her fee to the charity for ex- service personnel, which was chosen by the people who attended the luncheon.
A raffle was conducted and the monies raised will be donated to BLESMA.

Once again the Garston Hall family of Freemasons did a great job to be proud of.
